We also offer summer internships that run from June to August and support our Business Accounting Solutions (BAS) department with ERISA/401(k).
On-Campus Recruitment Process
Olsen Thielen attends on-campus career fairs and college accounting club meetings throughout the year. Opportunities are available through our website or Handshake.
What To Expect
As an intern, you’ll join a team of professionals working to serve our clients. You will find this the ideal opportunity to experience the profession and the lifestyle of a young professional in these departments. Approximately 90 percent of our Interns return to Olsen Thielen as full-time staff accountants once they graduate. We encourage our interns to focus on their internship, which may include extended hours during the winter season so plan your academics and additional activities accordingly.
What You’re Looking For:
We will discuss your interests during the interview process and plan your Internship experience with either Audit, Tax, or BAS. If your interests are uncertain, you may have the opportunity to spend some time in multiple functions if you desire.
What We’re Looking For:
We are looking for Juniors and Seniors working toward a BA/BS in Accounting who have a 3.0 GPA or above and will meet the 150 credit hour requirement to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation, or shortly thereafter. In addition, we emphasize other non-academic activities that demonstrate your success working with others such as a club, athletics, volunteerism, and other activities, including part-time positions while working toward your degree.

“BASE Camp gave me true insight into what a day in the life of an accountant looks like; I got to see how an audit works, become familiar with the audit software, and gain actual hands-on experience. BASE Camp really helped me understand how what I’d been learning in my classes was going to translate into real-world work experience.”
– Shaun Stachowski
“I loved learning about the different areas within Public Accounting and the different niches that the firm works within. The presentations, panels, Audit/Tax simulations, volunteer activities, and after-hour events were all a great way to get to know the firm in a relaxed environment.”
– Kiya Caturia
“Everyone at Olsen Thielen was extremely welcoming and willing to have a conversation with me. The biggest takeaway I got from BASE Camp was an understanding that it was vital to me to work somewhere where I like the environment, the people I’m going to be working with, and at a place that values my career growth.”
