Join us in wishing Linda Nelson, a well-deserved and happy retirement.
After a long and remarkable career, Linda Nelson has decided that effective December 31, 2020, she will be retiring from Olsen Thielen. We want to thank Linda for her knowledge, dedication, and everything she did for clients and colleagues. We will miss Linda as a tax principal within Olsen Thielen and a valued Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with her clients.
Linda’s success reflects her 40+ year career serving clients and as a leader in the community and the firm. She has held various volunteer positions on committees and task forces, as a speaker and author of several articles. In 2018, the firm proudly congratulated Linda for being named one of Finance & Commerce’s Top Women in Finance.
As you remember, 2018 ushered in monumental tax code change. Linda frequently spoke on the new tax law’s impact on nonprofit organizations, including presentations to clients and other boards of directors, within our firm and community.
Throughout her career, Linda served as a mentor and confidant to many up-and-coming accountants within the firm and other organizations. A past employee of OT sent a heartfelt note to Linda with this quote, “When I think of mentorship, you are the first person that comes to mind.”
Linda grew up in southern Minnesota and earned her accounting degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato. She and her husband, Mark, raised two sons. Being married to a former pastor means Linda’s life is intertwined with community service through her church.
We know Linda plans to retire from her position at the firm, but she will never retire her passion. Please join us in saluting Linda’s new chapter and her inspiration to make the most of 2021 and beyond.
